Our Spring 2020 Fine Arts Series will focus on Vincent van Gogh. Join us as we explore the works and techniques of one of the world’s most known artists through a series of workshops that will launch with a Masters & Me Tea and conclude with a birthday party for Vincent Van Gogh. Each workshop has a different fee based on supplies needed. You must reserve a spot for each of the events in this series so we can be sure to have enough supplies on hand. Series Events: Thur, Jan. 16 ~ Masters & Me Tea 10am to Noon Washington Street Church of Christ $10 per person includes all supplies Take some time with the Masters. This month's focus is on Vincent Van Gogh and is our launching event for this fine arts series. While enjoying tea, we will do a Charlotte Mason style picture study. Afterward, we will create a work of art using oil pastels. This event is appropriate for all ages. Cost: $10 per person Tea includes seasonal fruit, scones, iced tea and hot tea. Please save your spot by January 14 telling how many children in your family will be attending in the comments or you can send Patti an email at ChestnutRidgeAcademy@gmail.com Thur, Feb 13 ~ Impasto Painting 10am to Noon Washington Street Church of Christ Van Gogh is known for his contrasting colors and his impasto style filled with hatch stokes and rolling, pulsing motions of his paintbrush. During this workshop, students will create a piece of art using this method of painting. Cost is $15 and includes all supplies. Cost is $10 and includes all supplies. Senior Meeting Tuesday, September 17 at 6:30pm Seniors registered with Chestnut Ridge Academy who will be graduating during the 2019-20 school year should attend this meeting. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend as well. We will go over information about the graduation ceremony, senior recognition night, senior pictures, and Tennessee Promise.
