The final installment in our Fine Arts Series for 2020 is a student art gallery. Students who have created art either in Vincent van Gogh's style or simply honoring Vincent van Gogh may bring their art to put on display. Art may be pieces created at one or more of our workshops in the Fine Arts Series or may be something different the student created at home. Each evening students may bring their parents, grandparents and friends to see their work.
Light refreshments will be served. The Student Art Gallery will be open over three evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 to allow for more people to attend. Drop off art work at the following dates/times: Wednesday, June 2 ~ 9am to 1pm Thursday, June 3 ~ 9am to 1pm or 3pm to 5pm If you attended the workshop where we painted the Starry Night on the Tshirts, you are encouraged to wear your shirt. Be sure all art work is labeled so we are sure to return it to the correct person. Please email ChestnutRidgeAcademy@gmail.com if you will be participating and how you will be participating - artist or aesthete*. *Aesthete (es-theet) - An aesthete is someone who loves and appreciates works of art and beautiful things

We are moving forward cautiously keeping in mind the recommended social guidelines by making tentative plans for the summer and next fall.
Governor Lee will be giving a press conference in the morning to lay out the plan to reopen the state. As I review the guidelines, it looks like we need to get to Phase 2 to resume activities. Phase 1 may allow some activities with certain restrictions. With the events on the calendar for May (End of the Year Potluck for Co-op, Prom and Graduation), we will do what we can to make these events happen. We may have to make some modifications, but we're ready to do that.
Thank you for your patience. ~Patti The 2019-20 Yearbook will include the following:

We are making decisions on cancellations one day at a time and will post information as it becomes available.
We had a birthday party for Vincent van Gogh scheduled for this week. Due to COVID19 and social distancing recommendations, we had to postpone that event. Since today is Van Gogh's birthday, I thought we could recognize it by watching a slideshow of pictures taken during our Fine Arts Series so far this year. The Chestnut Ridge Academy Board of Directors is on top of the Corona virus situation and the school closings. We have not made a definitive decision yet about the cancellation of any of our sponsored events.
Please be assured that we are on top of the situation. With information changing daily, We don't want to make any rash decisions. We appreciate your patience at this time. Next they completed an exercise in drawing lines to show movement. Finally, they painted their version of Starry Night on T shirts.
